Why choose Wonderland? 

With years of unique experience under our belts, we know how to craft an experience that is fun, inspiring and inclusive for a range of ages. As parents ourselves, we know exactly what we would want from an experience for our children, but realised there was a gap between full preschool programs and one-off classes… so we created our own. Each week our story and theme is different, where possible connecting with cultural festivals or events happening in the real world.

 

How many children in a group?

We recommend 15 or less children for an intimate, magical session, however we can welcome up to 5 more at an additional $60/$30 per pax. For larger groups we may be able to offer a modified program, please email your enquiries here.

What age group do you recommend?

Most of our sessions are planned for children 18 months - 5 years old. Why such a range? We know that many families include more than one sibling and it can be tricky finding something everyone can join. Younger siblings are welcome to join our older sessions and we will try to be as inclusive as possible. We also frequently have children up to age 8 joining our groups and enjoying them - it all depends on the individual. We do arrange some sessions designed for babies and children up to 18 months.

Classes with wider ranged age-groups have long been utilized in Montessori, Waldorf and other child-centered classrooms. The structure shows that younger children often learn faster by watching older children and older children internalize new concepts and learn responsibility by modeling for younger children.

 

My child has additional needs, can you support them?

Absolutely! We welcome all participants and will make accommodations where necessary or appropriate. If there’s something specific we should know about your child (eg sensory sensitivity towards loud sounds or certain textures) please do let us know. Both Sarah and Rebecca have extensive experience working with neurodiverse children.

 

Can I drop off my child and leave?

Please note, we ask that children under 5 have an accompanying adult present during the session so that all participants are able to enjoy themselves. In the case of multiple siblings etc please can at least one adult join.

 

As opposed to a school or centre which would be closed and secured, Wonderland events take place in a variety of locations and therefore cannot accept full liability for supervision. Depending on location we may ask that nominated adults remain in sight or nearby in case their support is needed to bring children to a bathroom etc.

 

Could you run a session for older children?

Definitely, although in order to offer a high quality and age appropriate program or buy supplies, we may need at least 5 days planning time. If you have something in mind, please email your enquiries here.

 

Can you plan a special session based on my request of story / theme / animal etc?

We certainly can, however there may be an additional charge as hours of planning and research go into each session. If your idea is one we can use in our general sessions so there’s no wasted resources we won’t charge. Please email your enquiries here.

 

Can you plan a special session with more academics, eg number and letter skills?

In general, what we do supports the more creative, holistic kind of learning the research shows is so important… but that said, we can, however there may be an additional charge as hours of planning and research go into each session. Can you offer a more structured music curriculum that develops over time?

If we have a regular group who make sequential bookings then yes.

Do you offer birthday parties?

There are some excellent companies in Singapore offering specialised party hosting including decorations etc; we can’t offer that kind of service. If however you would like  us to run a special Wonderland session as party entertainment we can do so. Please email your enquiries here.

 

Can you travel across the whole island?

At present we are only available in East and central Singapore for regular bookings.

 

I need to cancel my session, can I get a refund? 

We are not able to offer refunds, however we can offer a voucher to use for a future session. You may also offer another child your place if you can find a replacement (please let us know so they can fill in a registration form).

What if it rains?

We monitor the weather before all sessions and give a full refund in the case of cancellation  due to weather. We do continue if there is brief or light rain, and all outdoor sessions include a designated shelter location.

What if I'm late?

It happens, right? We are toddler parents ourselves, we understand. Obviously it's better to turn up from the start so we can welcome your child(ren) but if nothing's going to plan today please know you can join us any time :)

 

Do you offer a package? 

Buy 5, get 1 half price and buy 10 get 1 free (6 month validity).

 

Do you offer trial priced sessions?

We do not offer a trial price our current rate works out much cheaper hourly rate than most similar classes. If you would like to join an open session, please look on the booking calendar or our social media for upcoming open sessions. 

 

Can I pay when I get there?

We are not able to facilitate payments during sessions, sorry. Full payment must be made before attending.

 

I don’t know enough other interested parents to make a group, can I still join?

If you would like to join an open session, please look on the booking calendar or our social media for upcoming open sessions. Alternatively if you have a smaller group of friends and don’t mind sharing the full fee amongst yourselves, we are happy to run more intimate sessions.

 

I want to / don’t want people to take photos of my kid, is that ok?

We do allow parents to snap photos or videos during our sessions as long as it is safe and not interfering with any activities. If you would prefer your child not to be filmed please let us know before the session starts and we will share your request with the group. Wonderland have "no photos" stickers that we can give to parents who wish to opt out.

 

Where can you run a session?

As long as there’s sufficient space for all children and adults, reasonable protection from the elements and access to a nearby bathroom we are happy to go anywhere. We have run sessions in people’s homes, parks, libraries and condos so far. 

 

What cultures influence your source material?

In our own immediate families we have people of European, American, Malay, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Eurasian and Peranakan origin. We do our best to find out about and honour the cultural stories, art and music from those and other cultures. If you have a great idea for a story or festival to explore, please let us know! We believe children really benefit from learning about each other’s cultures. Please do let us know if you feel we are misinterpreting or disrespecting any element of your culture.
